Chapter Seven — Steps to Authenticity
July: The Holy Instant
1. If human thoughts and feelings create an insane, jumbled-up mess, then the Holy Instant is time of sanity. It is time outside of time when a character acknowledges the soul and the soul's connection to the all of all. It is timeless time of no thoughts, no concerns, and no worries. It has no past and no future. It is where the soul's power lives. It is not part of the human world and experience, as it is outside of them. It is reality, outside of a world of illusion.
2. Anytime you want to leave this world experience, you can. You are wearing your ruby slippers, but instead of saying, "I wish I was in Kansas" simply say, "I Am here in this place now, where I Am to learn more about my soul, and in doing so allow it to grow and transform everything within and without." As the inside changes, the perspective changes. Me becomes we. Selfishness becomes selflessness. The Holy Instant is a reminder of your true identity, and it is available to all, at all times. No concussion required.
3. The Holy Instant is a thoughtless state of mindlessness and soulfulness. It is a reminder that you are not who you think you are, but are one of divine essence, a soul connected to all other souls, the totality of which creates God, the source energy that created everything you know about and everything you do not. It is as mysterious as the real you is, undefined and formless, informed by the all of all. Give it a spin. Picture yourself in stillness, consumed by light, and explore. What do you discover? Stay awhile and return often. You will never be the same again. You are a portal into the unknown, where the unknown can become known through you. This is reality. This is your reality.
4. Guidelines:
Pick a time of day that suits you best and read the step that corresponds to the appropriate month and date. This is your starting point. Simply reflect on what the step means to you and ways to put it into practice. Accept whatever feelings come to the surface as you work your way through the steps. These steps are the beginning of a transformation where love replaces fear, which is no easy feat. Be patient with yourself. You are doing what few have ever been able to do. Now you have the means. Just add a little willingness and you will be a more soulful and less ego-driven being in just a year's time. Godspeed.
